"Tofurkey" Burgers
| Serves: 6-8 People |
Preparation Time: 10-20 minutes |
Cooking Time: 20 minutes |
Ingredients:
500g (about 1 pound) Firm Tofu
1 Large Onion (finely diced)
3 to 6 Garlic Cloves
2 tbsp Dark Soya Sauce
2 tbsp Rice Wine
2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
½ cup Whole-wheat Flour
Black Pepper (to taste)
Olive Oil
Preparation Instructions:
- Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.
- Wash and dry the tofu.
- Crumble the tofu into a food processor and process until mixture is very fine.
- Add all of the other ingredients to the tofu and mix well with a wooden spoon.
- Take amounts of the mixture between your hands and press them into burger shapes. (The amount of mixture you take depends on how big you want your burgers to be).
- Place the burger patties onto a lightly greased baking sheet and brush the tops with a little olive oil.
- Put the burgers into the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until they start to brown on the edges.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve on a multi-grain bun with lettuce, tomato and onion.
