Quick Cancer Fighting Stir-Fry

Serves: 1-2 people Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes Cooking Time: About 4-6 minutes

Ingredients:

200g Broccoli
200g Cauliflower
¼ cup split almonds
1 clove garlic (or more if you prefer)
½ cup vegetarian oyster sauce
1 cup water
1 tbsp cornflour
Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Cut the broccoli and cauliflower into florets and mince the garlic.
  2. Mix the oyster sauce, water and cornflour in a bowl.
  3. Heat the wok to very hot and throw in the broccoli and cauliflower, stirring all the time for about 2-4 minutes. (Keep cooking time to a minimum to avoid destroying the heat sensitive nutrients).
  4. Add the garlic and almonds to the wok and stir through.
  5. Immediately follow by adding the sauce mixture into the wok and mix well until thickened, add salt and pepper if desired.
  6. If the sauce is too thick, add a little water to thin it out.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve on a bed of buckwheat noodles to add even more healthful properties to the meal. Buckwheat is high in protein and like oats, the fibre in buckwheat has the ability to lower blood pressure and reduce cholesterol.

Health Benefits:

* The broccoli and cauliflower contain potent anti-cancer phytochemicals.
* Both are a rich source of vitamin C, an immune booster and allergy aid.
* The meal is rich in the minerals calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, pottasium and iron.
* The sulpher from garlic will help eliminate toxins.
